About AILIC

Mission

To promote the interests of the life insurance and annuity industry and its policy and contract holders in public policy development by representing the general interests of the industry before the Indiana General Assembly, the judicial branch, and the Indiana Department of Insurance, as well as other appropriate entities within the executive branch.

Policy

The Association is organized exclusively to permit its members to exercise more effectively their rights to speak, assemble and petition for a redress of grievances, as guaranteed to them under the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America, and thereby to promote their common business interests within the meaning of the Treasury Regulations under section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States revenue law). As thus limited, the purposes of the Association shall specifically include the following:

  1. To represent the industry in legislative, administrative and judicial matters at the state, county and municipal levels of government in Indiana and before quasi-governmental organizations, and in this connection to cooperate with the national life and health insurance associations.

To provide a clearinghouse for the exchange of information concerning governmental and quasi-governmental regulations or proposed regulations relating to the life insurance industry.

  2. To engage in such other activities in furtherance of the common business interests of its members as are incidental or related to the foregoing purposes.
